Bihar matric exam 2021 to begin at 1,525 centres tomorrow – Times of India

PATNA: Preparations are afoot to conduct the Matriculation exams from February 17 to 24 in a peaceful manner at 1,525 centres in 38 districts of the state. Altogether 16.84 lakh students are likely to write the exams that will be held in two sittings daily.

According to Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) chairman Anand Kishore, 8.46 lakh students will take the exams in the first sitting and 8.37 lakh in the second. In Patna district alone, more than 73,000 candidates are likely to write the exams at 74 centres.

“A control room, which will function from 6 am on February 16 till 6 pm on February 24, has been set up at the BSEB office to tackle all problems related to exams. Besides, a WhatsApp group called ‘BSEB exam 2021’ has been created for quick dissemination of information,” Kishore said on Monday.

In view of the winter season, the examinees will be allowed to wear socks and shoes. They will be frisked twice — once at the main gate of the examination centre and later inside the hall.

“Section 144 will be imposed and no crowd allowed to assemble within 200 meters of the examination centres. No person other than the examinees will enter the centres,” the BSEB chairman said, adding that the students would reach the centres at least 10 minutes before the commencement of the examinations.

Besides, an adequate number of magistrates and police personnel will be deployed and CCTV cameras installed. The centre superintendents will issue identity cards to all the personnel engaged in the examination works.

Kishore pointed out, “Four model centres of examination have been created in each district where all the students and the personnel engaged in examination duties will be women.”

Covid-19 safety protocols will also be followed during the examinations. “The examinees will be allowed to enter the centre only after wearing face masks and sanitizing their hands. They will maintain social distance at all times,” Kishore said.
