BHUBANESWAR: Governor and chancellor of state universities Ganeshi Lal on Thursday appointed Arka Kumar Das Mohapatra as vice-chancellor of Odisha State Open University, Sambalpur for a period of three years. I will try to get good NAAC grade for my institution. I will also try to create a transparent, clean and open administration for better management of the university,” he added.

The professor said image of a university is important to attract students. “We will try to work on this aspect and create a brand name like IGNOU. After this, visibility of the university will be increased. Strong feedback system will be developed in the institution for its improvement,” he added.

He said value added courses will be launched for people especially youths of different categories. “We will also design courses for housewives and working women besides job oriented courses. I will try to speed up the work of permanent campus of the OSOU. We will request the state government to increase human resources for the institution,” he added.
