Divyangi had topped in Class 12 CBSE exam last year scoring 99.6 per cent marks and had ranked second in the country in Biology group.
Her father Umesh Nath Tripathi, a professor in the chemistry department of DDU Gorakhpur University, said: “It is a proud moment for us and we are very happy.”
Her mother, Usha Tripathi, said they received the invitation from the union government on January 13.
“It is like a dream come true for me to watch the Republic Day parade with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is also my favourite leader. I am very happy to be going there,” Divyangi said.
Divyangi aims to become a doctor and is preparing for the NEET exam, “I want to serve the country as a doctor,” she said.
