Odisha CPET 2020 merit list published – Times of India

BHUBANESWAR: The higher education department on Saturday published state wide merit list of the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET)-2020. Khusi Agrawal, who has topped the entrance test for statistics course, got the highest percentage of marks (91.29 per cent) compared to all the course toppers.

Odisha has conducted CPET for the first time for admission into PG courses offered by 70 colleges and state public universities. It was held between October 12 and October 22 at 28 examination centres in the state.

A total of 55,746 candidates including six Covid-19 positive students had appeared the CPET-2020 examinations out of the 62,190 registered candidates. The department has published the list of toppers in 83 courses. Merit list has been released for 52,780 candidates.

According to the statistics, girls have topped in approximately 64 per cent of PG admission subjects, while boys topped 36 per cent of subjects. After Khusi Agrawal’s highest percentage, Sudipta Pattnaik (Sanskrit) has secured 90.13 per cent followed by Ipsita Mohapatra’s (Geology) 89.97 per cent, Brititapa Naik’s (Life Science topper) 89.88 per cent and others.

“Student’s option and merit details is available in the university/college wise login for further admission purpose. Students have provided their options (like 1, 2, 3) in order of preference. Colleges and universities will draw up their merit list based on the options provided by the students,” said an official statement.

The department had asked candidates to upload their graduation/equivalent mark in the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal by November 17 prior to preparation of final state merit list. A total of 2,966 candidates have not uploaded their graduation mark sheet.

The dateline was changed for third time because students couldn’t manage to upload the marks due to delay in publication of undergraduate (UG) final year/semester results by many colleges and universities.

The state has 14,401 PG seats in 70 colleges and universities. All the admission process for PG courses will be completed by December 21.
