YouTube cancels Rewind this year: Reason 2020 – Times of India

Every year Google owned YouTube released a “Rewind” video which consists of the recap of the trends which went viral along with the major moments and happenings of the year. However, this year the company has decided to break its decade long tradition of releasing a rewind video. The company has announced that there will be no rewind video for the year 2020.
The company took to Twitter to reveal the news. YouTube tweeted, “Since 2010, we’ve ended the year with Rewind: a look back at the year’s most impactful creators, videos and trends. Whether you love it – or only remember 2018 – Rewind was always meant to be a celebration for you. But 2020 has been different. And it doesn’t feel right to carry on as if it weren’t. So, we’re taking a break from Rewind this year.
We know that so much of the good that did happen in 2020 was created by all of you. You’ve found ways to lift people up, help then cope, and make them laugh. You made a hard year genuinely better. Thank you for making a difference.”
Recently, it was reported that YouTube has rolled out a new app update on the iOS platform which brings HDR video support. Now, iPhone 12 users will be able to select HDR options to view video content. The YouTube App update (15.45.2) adds HDR support for the new iPhones: iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 mini, as per a report by Macrumors.
