Instagram launches Reels and Shopping tab – Times of India

Facebook-owned photo sharing app Instagram has announced that it is adding new tabs on the home screen of its app. The company is going to add a Reels tab and a Shop tab.
“We don’t take these changes lightly – we haven’t updated Instagram’s home screen in a big way for quite a while,” said Instagram while announcing these features.
Both these new tabs are being added on the home screen are said to be done to make it easier for a user to discover new content as well as to shop through the app.
Both Reels and Shopping are two features that the app has been promoting for the last couple of months.
Just last month, Instagram added three new audio-related features to Reels. As per the tweet, Reels will now allow users to save audio, share audio and browse audio.
The ‘save audio’ feature will allow users to save sounds to create whenever users want. The ‘share audio pages’ will share all the Reels that use a specific piece of audio over Direct Messages (DMs) and the ‘audio browser’ feature will allow users to search through new sections such as ‘For You’ and ‘Trending.”
